01 · Reception and sorting
Reception and sorting
We receive batteries from phones, laptops, electromobility and BESS systems. Every batch is weighed, sorted by chemistry and format, and registered with full traceability from day one: the documentation the EPR law requires.
Discharge, dismantling and grinding
Batteries are electrically discharged and dismantled under protocols that control electrical, chemical and fire risk. Grinding the cells produces black mass: the dark powder that concentrates lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese.
Leaching
The black mass enters leaching: a controlled chemical dissolution that releases the metals of the cathode material (NMC) and makes them available in solution for the separation stages.
Purification and separation
Successive purification stages separate the nickel and cobalt solutions, with batch-level analytical control until consistent industrial grade is reached.
Crystallization
The purified solutions are crystallized into cobalt sulfate heptahydrate and other mineral salts, packaged and ready for commercialization.
Final product and dispatch
Cobalt sulfate ships in liquid form (1,000 L IBC) or crystallized. The liquid format already proved better performance, lower consumption and 22% lower cost than the imported product at Codelco El Teniente.
