Privacy policy
How we handle the personal data you give us on ecobaterias.org, in the demo portal and through our contact channels.
Ecobaterías processes your personal data only to answer your inquiry, arrange the intake of batteries or modules and issue the related documents. We do not sell data and we do not share it for advertising. You can request access, rectification, cancellation or objection at contacto@ecobaterias.org; we reply within 48 business hours.

Who processes your data
The data controller is Ecobaterías, which operates the ecobaterias.org website and the hydrometallurgical plant in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Single channel for data protection matters: contacto@ecobaterias.org or +56 9 4011 8111.

Why we use it and on what legal basis
- Answering your request and preparing a technical or commercial proposal. Basis: your consent when you send the message.
- Arranging intake or pickup of batteries and modules and issuing waybills, weighing records and the valorization certificate. Basis: performance of the contract and legal traceability duties.
- Meeting regulatory duties on reporting and hazardous waste handling. Basis: legal obligation.
- Measuring site usage in aggregate to improve performance. Basis: legitimate interest, with no individual profiling.
We apply Ley 19.628, Chile’s privacy protection law, and align our processing with Ley 21.719, the law that creates the Chilean data protection agency and modernizes the national regime.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that do not lead to a service: up to 12 months from the last contact.
- Data tied to an intake, a test or a certificate: for the duration of the relationship plus the legal retention period for waste documentation.
- Aggregate site metrics: no identifiable data, so nothing is linked to a person.
Who else processes it
- Vercel, our hosting and content delivery provider and the vendor of Web Analytics and Speed Insights. Neither tool sets cookies: they process the IP address and user agent to produce aggregate metrics.
- The email provider we use to receive and answer messages from the form and from contacto@ecobaterias.org.
We use no advertising networks, tracking pixels or profiling tools.
International transfers
Hosting and email infrastructure may be located outside Chile. In those cases we require contractual confidentiality and security commitments equivalent to this policy.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its rectification or cancellation, object to a given processing activity and withdraw consent at any time. Write to contacto@ecobaterias.org stating which right you are exercising. We reply within 48 business hours and tell you in that same reply if identity verification is needed. If you are not satisfied, you may take the matter to the Chilean data protection authority.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do use your browser’s local storage to remember the contact form draft and the profile selected in the demo portal. That content never leaves your device and you can clear it from your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we process your data, we flag it prominently on this same page.
Frequently asked questions
Does the site use cookies?
Not for advertising or tracking. Vercel analytics works without cookies and only produces aggregate metrics; everything else is your browser’s local storage.
Do you share my inquiry with third parties?
Only with the email and hosting providers needed to deliver the message. We do not transfer data to third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.
How do I ask you to delete my data?
Email contacto@ecobaterias.org stating that you request cancellation. We keep only what a legal waste-traceability duty requires us to retain.
